Fishing Port

The fishing port of La Caleta de Velez has around 100 fishing boats dedicated to seafood, and trawling techniques.

The fishing fleet is very much could almost be called a craft industry for coastal fishing.

The fishing zone is around the Eastern coast of the province of Malaga, from Motril (Granada) to Estepona on the Western coastline.

The most typical fish are anchovies, sardines, ‘saltones’, octopus and mackerel, which are sold daily in the port.

A visit to the port or the trading warehouse will give the visitor a true view of local life of the Andalusian fisherman.
